"'Genet Porno' is merely puerile. And aggressively dull...Perhaps Mr. Greenberg, a director and choreographer, means to emphasize the eventual tedium of erotic experience, the desensitization that pornography invites. If so, he makes that point often and explicitly. It would be hard to imagine a tribute to Genet that wilts so quickly."

"One should warn everyone that this piece is not for children. There are explicit scenes of fellatio, masturbation, anal sex, and ejaculation...The three actors were given standing ovations. Anyone who wants to see an extraordinary unique piece of theatrical art should not miss 'Genet Porno.'"

However, Greenberg, through Genet, is slicing open contemporary queer life to locate its maladies and potentials for transcendence."
