The Gallery Players present the 1970s folk-rock musical, a series of Christian parables and the story of Jesus. More…
The musical, based on the Gospel of Matthew, with music by Stephen Schwartz, features a Tony-nominated score filled with the popular hits 'Day By Day,' 'Learn Your Lessons Well' and 'Turn Back, O Man.' Jesus Christ recruits a group of followers and teaches them various lessons through song and dance. Toward the end of the second act, the show begins to follow a more linear narrative as Jesus is betrayed by Judas and eventually crucified.
See it if You are ready to cry of happiness and sadness. This show will take you on a journey thats life changing.
Don't see it if You're offended by a lot of religion or don't want to cry with hundreds of other people.
See it if you enjoy a different take on Bible stories.
Don't see it if you are against anything having anything to do with religion. Personally, I think everyone should see the show at least once though.
See it if You once agin have an open mind, and you are not against Christianity (you always have those ppl once in a while)
Don't see it if It's a great show but different strokes for different folks my love
See it if You like the idea of a somewhat nontraditional musical with great songs and clever dialogue set against a modern biblical background.
Don't see it if The idea of any religion whatsoever in your musical is offputting to you.
See it if If you want to revisit the 60s approach to the musical. Quirky. Surprises. Good characters. Recognizable music. An open set.
Don't see it if You might be offended by a rather insensitive anti-Semitic line, which in my opinion should be pulled. It dampens an otherwise fun time.
