An office worker splinters into absurd dream worlds while trying to answer a single email.
The play follows a surreal office scenario in which one “office siren,” embodied by four performers, attempts to complete a routine email. Each click of “reply all” fractures reality, pulling the character into a series of increasingly abstract environments that blur work, memory, fantasy, and disorientation. These shifting worlds move fluidly between corporate space, personal recollection, and dream logic.
Written and directed by Hillary Gao, the piece reflects Gao’s interdisciplinary approach to theatrical structure and language.
Presented by The Exponential Festival in partnership with The Brick, the production incorporates ASMR-inspired soundscapes and choreographed physicality to construct its fragmented narrative. A content warning notes that the show includes mentions of death.
