The Gallery Players presents a revival of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-winning musical, a love letter to Washington Heights. More…
'In the Heights' takes place in NYC's Washington Heights, a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is always light and sweet, the windows are perpetually open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams, and pressures, where the biggest struggles are deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. Come see the musical Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote before 'Hamilton.'
See it if Gallery has done a great job. We caught the last performance. Loved it ever since seeing it in 2007 at Art 37 pre-Broadway.. A job well done
Don't see it if Too late...Must be a way for local theater companies to be able to extend winning shows
See it if you want to see a production of Lin-Manuel's show. There are limited options currently, and it's a very fun production. Lots of heart!
Don't see it if you want to see a very professionally acted show.
See it if You did not catch the Broadway production by the entertaining Miranda. Small theatre that puts on good productions and is inexpensive.
Don't see it if Dislike small theatre.
See it if You want to be dancing in your seat. Singing along. Never wanting the show to end. And feeling the pain of this borequa community
Don't see it if You don't enjoy Broadway.
See it if You love Latino music and culture! There are many great one-liners and 3D characters that most everyone can relate to.
Don't see it if You want flashy set changes and/or don't appreciate stories of money-related/immigrant struggles.
See it if You enjoy Hamilton, want to watch a thought-provoking, but overall light musical that tackles some heavy issues of class and race
Don't see it if You don't want to think too much, you dislike musicals that utilize other languages (there's a fair amount of espanol)
See it if you are at all familiar with Lin-Manuel Miranda and his brilliance!
Don't see it if you are the least bit bigoted. This is an incredible show about a Hispanic family/neighborhood.
