Ambitious, Entertaining, Fun, Well staged

See it if You didn't catch the original. Upbeat if uneven cast, this stripped down version reveals how solid, ambitious & far-reaching the material is

Don't see it if Expensive production values are important.

Also A great effort by the Harlem Rep, and a beneficial one, keeping this s... Read more Read less

Delightful, Entertaining

See it if you need your mood uplifted. I was truly "in the heights" after seeing this. It's the antidote to our collective stress

Don't see it if if you don't like musicals. This is a musical with great singing, dancing, and acting and it's by Lin-Manuel Miranda!

Clever, Entertaining

See it if your love Lin Manuel Miranda music and lyrics. It was good, not great but obviously you can see evidence of his genius.

Don't see it if you want to sing the songs from the show when you leave the theatre. No humming any music after.

So-so, Inconsistent talent, Spirited songs

See it if you don’t mind sitting through uneven performances in order to hear the songs that put Lin-Manuel Miranda on the map.

Don't see it if you have to pay more than $20. You saw it on Broadway. You’d be unhappy with a show that’s more of a staged concert than a revival

Also Likable characters, several memorable songs, a cliche but forgivable “... Read more Read less

Delightful, Great acting, Must see, Entertaining, Great singing

See it if you enjoy wonderful musicals, with very talented young performers who give it their all.

Don't see it if you have a problem with loud music. There was something wrong with the sound system making the sound hard on the ears.

Also Just see it.

Cacophonous, off pitch, out of tune, puerile attempt at a really good musical

See it if You are tone deaf and want to see the brain from which Hamilton sprung. Many of the same techniques are employed here with a familiar story.

Don't see it if you care about music, dance, acting, or your ears.

Also I saw the original on B'way and decided to go back for a refresher. I ... Read more Read less

See it if you love musicals, esp. those involving the Latino culture; you like stories about following your dreams while maintaining relationships.

Don't see it if you don't want a family friendly show

Absorbing, Great acting, Resonant, Disappointing, Great singing

See it if You want to take a look at Lin-Manuel Miranda's early work. Songs are Hamilton-styled. The acting and singing are great!

Don't see it if You don't like a great work carried out in a very cheap production. I repeat, very cheap, which reduces the quality of acting and singing.

Also Great performers, some of them are beyond qualified to perform on Broa... Read more Read less

Ambitious, Great writing, Entertaining, Fun

See it if you want a solid community theatre caliber replica of the phenomenal B'way musical on a much smaller scale.

Don't see it if you want a live orchestra, or next level greatness, charm & cheekiness the likes of Mandy Gonzasles, Chris Jackson, LMM.

Funny, Great acting, Relevant, Resonant, Great writing

See it if You would like to see problems of young people, and such wonderful energy brought to the stage, met with Lin Manuel-Miranda's writing.

Don't see it if You cannot keep up with fast singing, dislike rap music, or desire a more "Broadway" sound.

See it if I saw this show when it was off broadway and then on broadway. The characters are a bit cliché but show is enjoyable. Good set.

Don't see it if Not a sophisticated show and characters are not probed too deeply.

Good acting, Amateurish, Enthusiastic, A few really poor singers, Cumbersome staging

See it if you want to pretend you're seeing the strong voices, professional staging & lighting & good choreography that do this amazing show justice.

Don't see it if bad singing, dim lighting w/ some numbers performed almost in the dark, chaotic dancing and blocking and a hot theater bother you.

Also Lots of heart here, and it was a worthy effort for community theater, ... Read more Read less

See it if You like the stories from In The Heights, this show really captures the spirit of the original in a fresh way.

Don't see it if You're looking for Hamilton. Lin's pre-Hamilton work is very different...still brilliant, but different.

Also A few sound issues came in, but other than that this was a really well... Read more Read less
