About the show

The Shakespeare Forum presents a production of Shakespeare's great tragedy as part of their 2018 El Barrio's Shakespeare Festival.

In this production, the focus will be on age, familial discord and the ever-present spectre of mortality. 'Lear' seeks to challenge concepts of classical theatre and encourage audiences to actively reflect on recognizable patterns in modern life.

Stage Buddy

"'Bold but faithful' is how I'd characterize this production...While each cast member has a decidedly different spin on Lear, each is effective. As a result, we're not stuck with one actor's interpretation. We have the freedom to choose the one we find most convincing...It's Bruun-Moss's ingenious direction that delivers the final, shattering blow of the piece - a moment I found genuinely terrifying in all the right ways." Must see, Thought-provoking, Clever

See it if You love King Lear. Or you want to see how timely King Lear can be.

Don't see it if You want traditional Shakespeare that doesn't ask tough questions.
