Great writing, Great acting, Funny, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if A deeply hilarious, utterly charming, really quick play done to perfection. A perfect little hour of theater.

Don't see it if Don’t go looking for anything too, too serious or expecting big production values, but otherwise this is a slender gem, wholly enjoyable.

Great acting, Quirky, Funny, Entertaining

See it if you’d enjoy a comic, offbeat play that’s colored with the language and tone of an unappreciated profession

Don't see it if you're hoping for special insights into the lives of public defenders or you want a more realistic, grounded work Read more

Refreshing, Great staging, Funny, Delightful, Clever

See it if Quirky, language driven play a la Jenny Schwartz; eccentric comedy about the depression of public defenders.

Don't see it if You need to like somewhat "downtown"ish experimental theatre & quirky sensibility. This is not a conventional play or naturalistic staging.

“ ‘Lunch Bunch’ is destined to disappoint anyone looking for a hard-hitting legal drama about the plight of our nation’s least appreciated attorneys...But it more than satisfies as a dramatic Bento box full of savory dialogue and sour insights, with an appropriately sweet dessert.”

“As plays go, Lunch Bunch is just a slip of a thing, a plotless sketch running just a few minutes short of a lunch hour. But Einspanier's dialogue is loaded with laughter, and they never forget that their characters are only a step or two away from despair.”

"Lunch Bunch" by Sarah Einspanier and directed by Tara Ahmadinejad is a rapid-fire comedy with farce ensemble timing in the service of a serious underlying topic, presented on a bare-bones set. It is about a group of overstressed lawyers in a public defender's office who think they have the perfect antidote for their daily struggles by sharing lunches. It is funny, touching, and worth experiencing the comic talent of the cast and the amazing flow of the story.
