About the Show

Benedick and Beatrice trade barbs and match wits under Hudson Valley Shakespeare's Theater Tent. Scandal abounds in Shakespeare’s biting comedy about lies, courtship, and the chaos created in pursuit of true love.

Clever, Great staging, Delightful

See it if You like to enjoy a summer theatre at a picturesque setting. Love how the actors leveraged the simple staging to interact. Family friendly.

Don't see it if You don’t like rendition of the classic script and of course if you don’t like Shakespeare.

Absorbing, Relevant, Great acting, Funny, Clever

See it if You’ve seen this play done before. Fresh take on the Benedick Beatrice battle.

Don't see it if You have little patience with outdoor theater. A little hard to hear from the last row. But we know the story, right?

Hilarious, Great staging, Great acting, Funny, Delightful

See it if You want to see some very solidly directed Shakespeare in a very beautiful setting.

Don't see it if You dislike very by-the-book interpretations of Shakespeare's works and are only looking for more avant-garde Shakespeare. Read more

Hilarious, Clever, Delightful

See it if This production was a lot of fun. It was at an outdoor theater which added to its charm. The actors were terrific.

Don't see it if You really hate Shakespeare.

Funny, Delightful, Clever

See it if It does play a lot on the cliché of boy meets girl, they don’t like each other, but then they do. If you do like that cliché-comedy,go for it

Don't see it if You don’t like clichés such I really suggest not watching it. Also if the actors don’t execute their roles it does take away from the story.
