About the Show

Dominique Morisseau's drama about an inner-city teacher's fight to give her son a future.

Nya is a Black inner-city public high school teacher. She runs her classroom strictly and is committed to her students, but sends her own son Omari away to an upstate private school in order to give him "better opportunities." When her son risks expulsion over a controversial incident, Nya must confront his rage and her own choices as a parent. But will she be able to reach him before a world beyond her control pulls him away? With profound compassion and lyricism, Pipeline brings an urgent conversation powerfully to the fore.

See it if you want to hear and think about some of the worries black teenagers and their mothers face in our society. Stellar acting, great play!

Don't see it if you don't want to be reminded that there are still major problems in our school system or you just in general don't like serious plays.
