Primordial is one of the first verbatim documentary theatre productions entirely about pregnancy and childbirth. Crafted by playwright Lillian Isabella and helmed by director Meghan Finn, in partnership with director/choreographer Leslie Galán Guyton, this production intertwines a multitude of viewpoints, spanning various races, ages, and genders, to create a harmonious tapestry of interconnected stories. Primordial explores the facets of pregnancy, childbirth, patient advocacy, maternal well-being, violence-free birth, and equity in childbirth, all while celebrating the inherent bond we all share and encouraging more candid conversations on these topics.
