Sexy, Ambitious, Enchanting, Entertaining, Great staging

See it if you enjoy cirque du soleil and burlesque-style performance art. It was an entertaining variety show with great performances.

Don't see it if semi-nudity makes you uncomfortable...also, it is smoky in the space (in case that is a health issue).

"Featuring a seemingly endless cavalcade of classy burlesque acts and scandalous comedy routines that will appeal to adults of every sexual persuasion, 'Queen of Hearts' is the best date-night show in New York City right now...A sophisticated smorgasbord of smart, sexy performances seasoned with a naughty pinch of S&M...For the most part, 'Queen of Hearts' lets us trade the madness outside the theater for an intoxicating, exquisite madness within."

“’Queen of Hearts’ is inspired by Lewis Carroll's story of Alice's adventures down the rabbit hole...McCormick has shaped the presentation around the talents of a wondrous ensemble...Combining the 17th Century style of the court entertainments enjoyed by King Louis XIV of France with more contemporary sensibilities...Like their past productions, ‘Queen of Hearts’ is an adventure for the senses in a captivating world of erotic imagination.”

"McCormick and his company have tapped into the contradictions of Carroll’s masterpiece in an experience that extends beyond the fourth wall and five senses where opulent and derelict, masculine, feminine, and androgynous, classic and modern, high-brow and glitter gutter all simultaneously exist...Highest stage honors for the evening go to quadruple threat Richardson as The Mad Hatter whose belting, comedic and dance chops become eclipsed by her haunting rendition of 'Mad World.'"

“An imaginative, visually stunning, musical send-up of the children’s classic...Overlong...and not all of the numbers impress equally; but the sheer ability of the performers...is often nothing short of astonishing...’Queen of Hearts’ invokes the source material while using virtually none of its language...’Queen of Hearts’ finds elevated company in its use of ‘Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland’ as both gimmick and foundational subject matter."
