The Tank presents this world premiere where, in a corridor haunted by wronged maidservants, a stable boy (Ruffles) considers the ways he is becoming bad because of the things his new job asks him to do.  More…

As a progression of rakes, profligates, and libertines drink more liqueurs and vomit in the decorative urns, one rake reflects on his dawning consciousness that his actions harm others. "Ruffles, or, a Progression of Rakes" is a meditation on power, consent and how to be a person, that is, a good person.

See it if you are interested in theatrical experiment & can tolerate loose ends & a few uninspired patches.

Don't see it if you want a traditional drama or a fully finished piece.

Confusing, Disappointing

See it if You have a friend in the cast.

Don't see it if You want a clear story beyond the first 20 minutes. You want a show with a purpose. You want good direction/scene transitions.

Lazy, Incoherent, Bad

See it if you're okay watching something that is defiantly unfinished, or you love raking.

Don't see it if you expect an artist to hold themselves to some kind of intellectual standard, or you hate raking.
