Good songs, Great puppets, Funny, Great staging, Entertaining

See it if You’re into musical theatre, in all its different forms, or were a fan of Sesame Street and some of its characters. Child friendly.

Don't see it if You’re looking for a show with a traditional story line, or don’t like kids shows, or more particularly children !

“What detracts from the show is that no one seems to have given parents and caretakers the heads up that this is a show for kids – not toddlers...There was a plot involving the only human in the cast, but it was pretty much lost on the kids who only wanted production numbers with the characters they recognized.”

"My children found it mildly enjoyable...Rather than create something special or memorable, the creators settled for a rehash of the same puppet designs and character voices. The kids deserve better."

There should have been more ways to distinguish between the live stage show and the much-beloved TV series….Perhaps some singalongs? …If “Sesame Street the Musical” is not the theatrical experience it could have been, it seems clear that Jonathan Rockefeller.. understands that it will be for many attendees the first live theater of their lives…. That may be why there are so many references to theater in the show.

" ‘Sesame Street: The Musical’ certainly feels like a test run of staging anything Muppet on stage, which isn't necessarily new for the muppet world...comes off as a prototype entertaining the talent and the technical possibilities for later "Sesame Street" musical theatre experiments.”
