See it if You're a guy. This dude pretty much has every guy pegged. Women, if you want to understand men a little better, this gets at our core.

Don't see it if You're a prude.

See it if your sense of humor hasn't matured since the 5th grade.

Don't see it if you have any taste at all, if you have any sense of humor at all, if you have any respect for the theatre... or yourself.

See it if you like an unusual confessional about how an obsession nearly destroyed the actor's life, amiable host, serious underpinnings

Don't see it if you expect something quite substantial, don't like miniscule audience participation, want more thorough plot line

Raunchy, Excruciating, Insipid, Unprofessional, A one joke idea that gets old quickly.

See it if You've had a few drinks before the show. You want to see a play where you don't have to think too hard. You want a stand-up comedy routine.

Don't see it if You value good acting & writing. You dislike it when performers talk with the audience. You want a quality production.

See it if I'm all for being a master of one's domain, but, I'm not really a fan of solo shows... I saw it in a small venue, like no more than 25 seats

Don't see it if Hate sex talk, perversion, small, possibly hot, space, non-musicals, or solo shows...

Great acting, Great writing, Hilarious, Edgy, Entertaining

See it if you want a fun show, it a dingy looking theater. Subject is not for everyone..

Don't see it if you don't have a sense of humor. This is not a show for your grandma.

Disappointing, Edgy, Overrated, Quirky, Raunchy

See it if you enjoy a one man show totally about sexual humor

Don't see it if you're offended by very specific sexual humor. you don't enjoy solo performances with no real script

Theatermania

"There is a serious play buried deep inside The Accidental Pervert but Andrew Goffman is content to gently sideswipe the profound points of his story and go for laughs instead. And there are plenty of laughs, although his self-deprecating comedy is fundamentally built on a single joke."

"The Accidental Pervert runs 90 minutes, which feels about 30 minutes too long, especially while seated on a folding chair, but Goffman is active and enthusiastic for every bit. No matter what, Goffman has to be given credit for going where few have gone before, and applying humor to a life situation that we can all identify with, even if we ordinarily keep it secret."

Theatre is Easy
January 25th, 2010

"An amusing and surprisingly touching one-man show; Goffman is a fine comedian and successfully sells a quirky script with an ease and a charm that allow the play to be engaging longer than it has the right to be...The play that started out as little more than a masturbation monologue, turned into something much more fulfilling."

"The Accidental Pervert is the true accounting of one boy's odyssey to manhood via a childhood dominated by pornography. This show is a one-man tour de force that will have women and men laughing at the whole experience...with an ending that is realistic and full of heart. The Accidental Pervert leaves us satisfied and complete."

"What makes it a show that continues to draw people in? Goffman has a manner about him that is warm as well as funny, making the audience feel like they are on this journey with him. They root for him during the show."

"It is a bold, honest, unique, taboo-breaking, laugh filled evening of Mr. Goffman exposing his private inner porno life after discovering his dad’s secret stash of sex tapes hidden in the back of the closet which gave him a tainted view of women until he met his wife and fathered a daughter."

"He speaks directly to the audience, animatedly recounting with a dose of humility, charm and self-deprecating humor, how porn took over his life, warped his image of women and set him up for the most unrealistic expectations...In the end, the show finds its heart and while drama does not seem to come as naturally to him, he succeeds in taking the audience in some unexpected directions."
