Set in the autumn of 1910, The End of Hester is a period piece that takes place in a ghost town in the foothills of the North Cascades. Two aging squatters cling to some semblance of home in a run-down cabin. When a foreboding man comes to deliver an eviction and a down on his luck cowboy seeks shelter, however, a violent battle for the makeshift home ensues.
