A spaceship drifts silently out of orbit as its pilot refuses to return home, while a taxi driver ferries strangers through a series of unguarded moments. The performance combines science fiction and lo-fi theatrical elements, bringing the characters and stories together within an intimate performance setting.

Paul Budraitis created the work and appears among its credited artists alongside Evan Anderson. Budraitis is also credited as the creator of the production on La MaMa's listing.

*The Greatest Story Ever* runs October 29 through November 8, 2026, with a running time of 55 minutes and no intermission. The production is presented by La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York City.
