Combining both Middle East theatre traditions with Musical Theatre traditions, this bio-musical is about Swiss-born Isabelle Eberhardt, who moved to North Africa at the age of 19.
The young rebellious iconoclast Isabelle Eberhardt enters into the Sahara in Elizabeth Swados and Erin Courtney’s desert musical. She finds holy men, kief smokers, spies, soldiers and tribes of nomads on this legendary journey. Embracing the unknown, Isabelle finds utter beauty and terrifying madness in her quest to live and die by her own rules.
