About the Show

TADA! Youth Theater presents this children's musical about a girl whose quest for perfection takes her in some charmingly imperfect and unexpected directions.

Sybil, a science nerd who constantly compares herself to so-called “perfect” people, sets out to create the “perfect” friend and ends up with a lab full of marvelous, merry, and mischievous monsters. TADA! is a nonprofit theater that produces original musicals for family audiences. The production stars members of TADA!’s Resident Youth Ensemble: talented kids between the ages of 8 and 18 from the NYC area who participate in this free, year-round youth development program.

"With its catchy songs, quirky costumes, and timely concerns, 'The Perfect Monster' is a great bet for elementary schoolers...The book has confusing bits...But these are minor quibbles. The songs by Deirdre Broderick are wonderful... And the talented performers...are energetic and entertaining without being cloying. But the spotlight belongs to Asa Thornton's whimsical and hilarious costumes."
