About the show

Part of Theater for the New City's 2017 Dream Up Festival: This world premiere solo show concerns a pharmacist who accidentally gives someone the wrong prescription, and then tries to fix his mistake. More…

Written and performed by Samsun Knight, 'The Pharmacist' is a story about depression and antidepressants, heartbreak and love, and what happens when shit hits the Internet. A blunt and dark comedy, the show operates as both speculative fiction about the direction of Internet culture, and an investigation of modern loneliness.

Absorbing, Quirky, Slow, Thought-provoking, Great storytelling

See it if You want to hear a great storyteller tell a far fetched story about a pharmacists that made a mistake and was going to try to fix t but.....

Don't see it if You don't like solo shows. You don't like simple staging. You don't like far fetched stories that might make you say ummmmm.

Absorbing, Clever, Great writing, Great acting, Thought-provoking

See it if You want to see a really well-written & well-acted piece.Playwright & solo actor Samsun Knight is very talented.1st time@this venue. Be back

Don't see it if Themes of suicide are an upsetting trigger. If you're looking for big production. But it's great.I especially loved it as I'm in pharm field

Banal, Great acting, Slow, Cliched, Disappointing

See it if like watching a good actor hopelessly trying to breath life into a mediocre play.

Don't see it if dislike seemingly overly long but actually short one-character plays dealing with guilt then pleasure addiction resulting from a "mistake."

Absorbing, Riveting, Thought-provoking, Intense, Quirky

See it if you're into avant-garde theatre. It's a one-man show that takes interesting twists and leads you into the dark path loneliness can take.

Don't see it if you want something high-budget. It's a speaking piece, long, narrative, up close. Triggering for people uncomfortable with suicide.

Ambitious, Confusing, Great acting

See it if you like one man shows with a twist that makes you not sure of what to think

Don't see it if you like a realistic story that is a real thought provoking drama
