Ambitious, Dizzying, Loony, Contemporary, Brilliantly designed

See it if you want to see a challenging play that is fully plugged into the zeitgeist, performed by a stellar downtown cast & beautifully designed.

Don't see it if you have no tolerance for experiment that tests the limit of how far afield an original premise can extend before the whole thing snaps. Read more

Funny, Quirky, Imaginative, Great staging, Unfinished

See it if you like a wild ride. There's lots to enjoy here (characters, humor, acting, staging), but the great set-up is dropped and TCS falls apart.

Don't see it if you want a full story arc. 1st 2 parts are masterful, the last disappointing. Still, laughs thru-out. W cutting/shaping, TCS could be great.

Clever, Entertaining, Funny, Quirky

See it if You are a fan of the Clubbed Thumb tradition of wild and crazy, as you should be. Downtown stars, lots of whimsey, this has promise.

Don't see it if The widening gyre, the center cannot hold, mere anarchy is loosed upon the stage. If that bothers you.

Ambitious, Confusing, Disappointing, Great staging, Great acting

See it if A great cast of downtown icons (including David Greenspan) work very, very hard to pull drama off Aided by great set & staging but not to be

Don't see it if Harnetiaux's talent is definitely on display but only sporadically It's dense w/o being illuminating; has a feel of 'whimsy on steroids'

Great writing, Hilarious, Profound, Must see, Thought-provoking

See it if you find humor in the hellscape of corporate culture. It has comedy for days.

Don't see it if you have to go to a team-building work function. But see it after that.

“A classic shaggy dog story. Or rather, shaggy bear...In its opening scenes, ‘Tin Cat Shoes’ may put you in mind of a stretched-out sketch...But Ms. Harnetiaux is following her own System, which involves dismantling our pathetic trust in all systems...With a lesser cast and design team the ingredients of ‘Tin Cat Shoes’ might not seem quite as fresh or tasty. But it’s hard to resist the eccentric top spin that these performers so happily put on their lines.”
