About the Show
Dule Hill stars in a reading of Amiri Baraka's classic tragedy about a femme fatale on a subway.
Baraka's classic is an intense two-character confrontation that begins playfully but builds rapidly. Set on a New York subway train, Dule Hill plays Clay, an intellectual, young African American man reading the paper. He is interrupted by Lula—a flirtatious, beautiful white woman a bit older. The lascivious blonde tries every way she knows to manipulate and seduce a black youth in a New York City subway car, with devastating results.
