The Lydian Gale Parr is a surreal chamber oratorio with ballet, telling the story of a child messenger from a besieged city seeking the enemy general. However, the general is always one step ahead. As the emissary travels through time and space, they transform, shifting genders and identities. Their journey takes them from ancient cities to endless voyages on cargo ships, all in the pursuit of peace, weaving in and out of different communities, but always driven by their mission as a ghostly child of war.
