A new musical with songs by Sarah Travis, bringing Compton Mackenzie’s 1928 novel to life on a vibrant island.

Set on the idyllic Mediterranean island of Sirene in the aftermath of World War One, Avanti, Signora! follows Rosalba and her lover Aurora as they seek peace and renewal. Their quiet retreat is disrupted by the arrival of other remarkable women, each in search of their own path. As personalities clash and friendships form, the island becomes a lively setting for transformation, filled with music, joy, and unexpected emotion.

The production marks the first stage adaptation of Compton Mackenzie’s 1928 comic novel. It features a new score by Tony Award winner Sarah Travis (Sweeney Todd, Sunset Boulevard) and lyrics by Richard Stirling (A Princess Undone).

This musical brings to life a postwar world of resilience, independence, and the pursuit of personal freedom, framed through a cast of women determined to shape their futures.
