About the Show

Directed by Teunkie Van Der Sluijs, this tense two-hander explores power, truth, and media in the influencer age.

Interview follows a charged encounter between Pierre Peters, a once-prominent political journalist, and Katya, an influencer-turned-movie star. Assigned to write a profile he considers beneath him, Pierre arrives irritated and dismissive. Katya, in turn, is wary of being reduced to a stereotype. As their interview unfolds in her New York apartment, the meeting descends into a high-stakes exchange of secrets, shifting control, and psychological maneuvering.

The play is adapted for the stage and directed by Teunkie Van Der Sluijs, based on the screenplay by Theodor Holman and the 2003 film by Theo van Gogh. This new version recontextualizes the story for today’s cultural climate, examining media distrust, gender dynamics, and the construction of public identity.

A tightly structured two-hander, Interview brings together two characters locked in a verbal and emotional contest, exploring how narrative, power, and persona are shaped and weaponized in contemporary culture.
