About the Show

Broadway Catford's annual pantomime telling the classic fairytale of Jack who trades his cow for magic beans!

In a bid to provide for his mum, Jack exchanges his family's cow for magical beans, leading to the overnight growth of an enormous beanstalk that reaches the sky. After climbing to the top of the beanstalk, Jack discovers a magical realm where a giant resides. In the giant's castle, Jack faces challenges and must outsmart the giant to steal some of his wealth & return home...

Associate Artist at the Kiln Theatre, Susie Mckenna, writes and directs this year's pantomime at Catford's Broadway Theatre.

“The panto as a whole is considerably less polemical than some of McKenna’s Hackney shows, but she’s at least committed to throwing in the odd topical gag throughout...Not quite there yet but still a breath of fresh air - Catford Broadway’s back, and so is Susie McKenna.”
