A governess at a remote estate questions whether two children are haunted.
At a remote English country house, a young governess arrives to care for two children and begins what appears to be a peaceful new chapter away from city life. As unsettling behavior and strange encounters accumulate, she becomes convinced the children are being haunted by malevolent spirits. Her growing obsession with protecting them blurs the line between supernatural threat and psychological instability.
The production features a new adaptation by Olivier Award-winning playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (Emilia; The Wasp), based on the novella by Henry James. It is directed by Nicky Allpress and presented by Arcola Theatre and Blackeyed Theatre.
