Paul Mescal stars in the West End transfer of the Almeida Theatre's production of Tennessee Williams' drama.

Blanche DuBois, a former Southern belle from a wealthy family, moves into a shabby apartment with her sister Stella & brother-in-law Stanley after suffering a series of personal losses. Blanche brings with her a past that will threaten now only her future, that but of her sister's. As her brother-in-law edges closer to the truth, Blanche's fragile world begins to fracture, resulting in a violent conflict that changes their lives forever.

Rebecca Frecknall ('Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club') directs this production, starring Oscar-nominated actor Paul Mescal ('Aftersun'), Patsy Ferran, and Anjana Vasan.

Not as intense as expected, Indulgent, Great acting, Creative, Ambitious

See it if you like Tennessee William and/or this cast, or just want to see an old play that you haven’t seen before.

Don't see it if you expect something groundbreaking. It’s a well-staged and well-acted production, nothing much more than that.

See it if you've never seen Streetcar on stage/are interested in seeing one of the best Blanche DuBois portrayals

Don't see it if You saw the Almeida run -- the Phoenix lacks the intimacy, the suffocation and the immediacy.

Intelligent, Profound, Intense, Disappointing

See it if If you like the storyline. The main actress gives it her all and is fab. It's an interesting take. Really liked the use of water.

Don't see it if This wasn't your more traditional version and I prefer stage sets than just props. That said it did bring out the acting more.
