Musical comedy featuring Johannes Radebe, music by Cyndi Lauper, book by Harvey Fierstein.
Set in a struggling Northampton shoe factory, Kinky Boots follows the journey of Charlie Price, who inherits the failing family business after his father's death. Facing imminent closure, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with Lola, a bold and charismatic drag performer. Together, they defy expectations by producing high-heeled boots for a niche market, transforming the factory’s future and forging new understandings about identity, acceptance, and resilience.
This London revival stars Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe as Lola, marking a significant stage debut for the professional dancer. The production is helmed by director Nikolai Foster, whose previous credits include major UK revivals of Grease and The Wizard of Oz. The musical features an original Tony and Grammy Award-winning score by pop legend Cyndi Lauper and a book by acclaimed playwright Harvey Fierstein (winner of multiple Tony Awards for works including Torch Song Trilogy and La Cage aux Folles).
Produced by English National Opera (ENO), this new staging arrives at the London Coliseum for a strictly limited 17-week engagement starting March 2026. Presented in English, the show includes elements such as strong language, strobe lighting, and haze, and is suitable for audiences aged 8 and over.
