About the show

J.T. Rogers' drama chronicles the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that led to the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords. Winner of two 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Play. More…

It’s 1993 and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat are standing together in the White House Rose Garden, signing the first-ever peace agreement between Israel and the PLO. How were the negotiations kept secret? And who are these mysterious negotiators? Featuring dozens of characters and set in locations across the globe, 'Oslo' is both a political thriller and the personal story of a small band of women and men struggling together—and fighting each other—as they seek to change the world. Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, and starring Tony winners Jefferson Mays and Jennifer Ehle.

See it if you want to know about the history of the Oslo Peace Accord and see great acting.

Don't see it if you like plays that are fast paced. Although the play was slow and could have been an hour shorter, it has a lot to say.

Long, Thought-provoking

See it if you're curious.

Don't see it if 3 hours is too many for you.

Absorbing, Great acting, Intelligent, Thought-provoking, The saddest thing about this curious (true) story is that while is demonstrated the possibility of peace, twenty-two years later we are still in the same ruts.

See it if You want engaging theater. You are curious about the mechanics of peace. Terrific performances turn you on.

Don't see it if You don't have an open mind about settling the Arab-Israeli conflict. You think politics makes poor theater. You like happy endings.

Don't see it if you have no interest in the subject.

Great acting, Intelligent, Intense, Relevant, Funny

See it if U doubt that showing behind the scenes peace negotiations could make for a thrilling theatrical experience; diplomats are real "characters".

Clever, Great staging, Epic, Masterful

See it if you enjoy a modern take of confrontational Brechtian epic theater with heavy political theme

Don't see it if you're not a fan of politics on stage and prefer a naturalistic stagecraft

Book your flight

See it if Dazzling language, expert cast now working together forever. Mays and Ehle excellent hosts, leading cast and audience through a labyrinth.

Don't see it if you disdain history plays and another rehash of the Mideast conflict. Very spare scenery and business attire costumes impede a perfect score

Also Tony watch is on in multiple categories. Great projections, which do n... Read more Read less

Ambitious, Clever, Great staging, Great writing

See it if You are hopeful about the world and can't get enough about politics and would like to believe that change can happen despite the immovable.

Don't see it if This was challenging and depressing yet hopeful. Great acting but long.

Absorbing, Ambitious, Great staging, Intelligent, Refreshing

See it if You have an appetite for ideas, politics and the human aspect of world changing events. Be prepared to listen closely

Don't see it if You don't like political theatre, or don't think theatre should address contemporary politics

Ambitious, Dizzying, Thought-provoking, Resonant, Intelligent

See it if you're interested in the potential and limits of diplomacy and want to see an even-handed approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Don't see it if You'll be overwhelmed by a very long, very dense work that appeals to the brain much more than the heart. It's more educational than moving.

Also Even at three hours, the play seems to be straining at its seams. It f... Read more Read less
