This new musical adapts Nicholas Sparks' novel about enduring love, with music by Ingrid Michaelson.
Adapted from Nicholas Sparks's bestselling novel, this musical, with music and lyrics by singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson and a script by playwright Bekah Brunstetter, tells the story of the enduring romance between Allie and Noah. Despite challenges, their love persists, and their tale is woven together through recollections brought to life as older Noah reads their story to an elderly Allie, who grapples with dementia.
After a triumphant stint at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, the Broadway rendition will be helmed by directors Michael Greif (known for Dear Evan Hansen and Rent) and Schele Williams (Aida, Motown the Musical), with choreography led by Katie Spelman.
The novel was previously adapted into a 2004 film featuring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.
