In this contemporary reinterpretation of Sophocles’ tragedy, playwright Anna Ziegler reexamines the story of Antigone—a young woman defying laws that seek to control her body and choices. Blending classical themes with modern sensibilities, the play unfolds in a world that feels both ancient and immediate, populated by conflicted leaders, uncertain enforcers, and one defiant daughter refusing silence.

Directed by Drama Desk Award nominee Tyne Rafaeli, this new production combines wit, lyricism, and social insight in its retelling of a timeless struggle between personal conviction and state authority.
