Umberto Giordano’s dramatic opera returns to the Met for the first time in 25 years. Full of memorable melodies, strunning arias, and intense confrontations, 'Fedora' demands a cast of powerful voices for the opera to soar.

Soprano Sonya Yoncheva performs the titular role as the 19th-century Russian princess who falls in love with her fiancé’s killer, Count Loris, sung by tenor Piotr Beczała. Soprano Rosa Feola plays the Countess Olga, Fedora’s confidant, and baritone Artur Ruciński is the diplomat De Siriex, with Met maestro Marco Armiliato conducting. Director David McVicar orchestrates a detailed and dramatic staging based around a fixed set that, like a Russian nesting doll, unfolds itself to transform into the show's three distinct settings.
