Repetitive, Long, Funny, Entertaining

See it if You like stand-up shows, especially about oral sex. It is funny and it flows well.

Don't see it if at the 60 min mark, it starts to drag and get repetitive. Could use tightening or maybe tangents about something else.

Overly long, Funny

See it if You enjoy standup comedy.

Don't see it if You are in the mood for a play or are uncomfortable w/ talk re: blowjobs etc. I would have liked it better if it were 60min.

Monotonous, Indulgent, Disappointing, Entertaining, Funny

See it if You are a heterosexual woman, maybe a gay man, looking for light comedy masquerading as naughty humor. Some good laughs. Nothing too heavy.

Don't see it if You’re looking for smart, sharp comedy with a point. I mean...there are some good ones here but it just seems to go on and on to nowhere. Read more

Quirky, Raunchy, Hilarious, Intelligent, Riveting

See it if you want to laugh. JN's funny, smart, fearless. Some feminism, but mostly coming-of-age story. You'll acclimate to the detailed BJ discussn.

Don't see it if open talk of private matters discomfits you. Or you want a plot (this is stand up) or staging. JV paces back-n-forth (her FitBit's happy). Read more

Clever, Delightful, Hilarious, Quirky, Raunchy

See it if Very funny & entertaining. Brilliant physical comedy, and insight into sex psychology & language. I'm not a standup fan but this was great.

Don't see it if You don't want to see a standup nightclub act. You don't enjoy sexual comedy, physical comedy, & sex stories.

Edgy, Funny, Clever, Intense, Thought-provoking

See it if you enjoy solo shows where deep personal insight is illustrated with amusing anecdotes. Very personable & present performer.

Don't see it if you have difficulty with descriptions of sexuality, nothing salacious. The performer's constantly pacing on the empty stage bothered me

★★★★ "It's possible that you think you've already had your fill of dick jokes. If so, the sly, digressive comedian Jacqueline Novak might be able to turn you around. In her languid one-woman stage special 'Get On Your Knees,' Novak talks for nearly 90 minutes about blow jobs, discussing men's strangely shy appendage, the vulva and her own winding path through high-school self-consciousness and collegiate anxiety toward full oral confidence."

"Many a comic has struggled with expanding his or her act to a length suitable for an Off Broadway gig, and there's no getting around the fact that, at a certain point, 'Get on Your Knees' ends up on its knees. But Novak at her best is a cold blast of common sense…"

"Novak nails the nonchalant attitude that serves this material well. And with her honesty and humor, she's created a performance that's about more than just blow jobs. But her narrative feels incomplete…'Get On Your Knees' could have done with a little more struggle."
