Entertaining, Delightful, Enchanting, Great singing, Great staging

See it if wish to be completely entertained in 90 minutes by well directed, acted, and staged show. Fun music too.

Delightful, Great singing, Entertaining, Great for kids

See it if you are looking for a children's show that isn't too scary and that adults can also enjoy.

Don't see it if you want a show targeting adults, not children.

Enchanting, Entertaining, Cliched, Indulgent

See it if you want to embark on a magical journey of the imagination, cleverly repurposing an existing set from another show. Quirky and inventive.

Don't see it if you cannot be in an audience surrounded by 3-7 year olds. Truly a children's show. Some over-acting, even for the genre of theatre for kids.

Enchanting, Clever, Disappointing

See it if you want to see a charming but half-baked musical aimed at families but scoring more highly with the youngest members of those families.

Don't see it if you're looking for consistent quality. It's easy to paper over the cracks with winsome performances but both score and book are a mixed bag. Read more

Again, the kids were enthralled, Shrill, Disappointing

See it if You have a child over 3. Yes they were that young and none made a peep. They loved it. Roald Dahl. Some great repurposing of props

Don't see it if You care for your ears. Over miked. Overly manic. Banal music. Maybe in a more intimate production. Parents less enthusiastic than kids. Read more

Disappointing, Overrated, Quirky

See it if You love Roald Dahl and dark story telling.

Don't see it if Note: this show deserves a better production. I thought that the theatre that brought us Band's Visit and Polka Dots would do a better job
