Absorbing, Dated, Thought-provoking, Resonant, Edgy

See it if Well played revival of Pintauro's early 90's AIDS drama Despite some lost urgency, still a cautionary tale Skilled ensemble does it proud

Don't see it if Acoustics not best suited for in-the-round staging; not unduely harmful Multiple character drama can cause fatigue but ensemble's energy A+

Intense, Dated, Moving, Powerful

See it if you want to experience a pretty accurate recapturing of the mood of the early 1990s AIDS epidemic.

Don't see it if seeing illness or how others confront illness in themselves & others makes you turn away. Read more

Resonant / absorbing / very relevant, Extremely real & intense book / thought-provoking, Edgy / loud / riveting / moving, An absolute definite must-see, Excellent generous & collaborative actors

See it if you can handle intense detailed personal stories about AIDS thru angst, anger, screams & real tears, in a very moving group-therapy session.

Don't see it if you can't handle an intense 90min of high drama. From the extremely real opening scene your heart barely stops racing until the warm ending. Read more

Great writing, Absorbing, Intense, Strong performances

See it if you want a glimpse of the darkest days of the AIDS crisis. It's a difficult piece, well performed with uneven direction. Worth the trip.

Don't see it if you need a theater with A/C. It's a sweaty black box.

Mixed, Mixed performances, Uneven, Strong writing

See it if you enjoy a cast/creative team with various levels of showcased ability - in a play that's stronger than the performed production.

Don't see it if you need an even show. Good work from most actors in an already strong play. if pro production/lighting/sound etc is important Read more

Absorbing, Intense, Relevant, Resonant, Riveting

See it if you're interested in stories about the AIDS crisis, like intense personal stories, want to cry

Don't see it if you object to depictions of queerness, don't like productions with swearing or moments of violence, or want to see something light
