A heart transplant links two families during a life-changing 24 hours.
Based on Maylis de Kerangal’s novel Réparer les vivants, this musical follows the aftermath of a young surfer’s sudden death and the extraordinary chain of events that follows. As his family faces an unimaginable loss, a stranger awaiting a transplant is offered a second chance at life. Over the course of a single day, their stories become connected through the journey of one donor heart.
The narrative moves between grieving relatives, medical professionals, and the transplant recipient, examining the emotional, ethical, and practical realities surrounding organ donation. Through intersecting perspectives, the musical explores loss, hope, responsibility, and the profound impact of decisions made in moments of crisis.
The production features a book by Kait Kerrigan, music by Anne Eisendrath and Ian Eisendrath, direction by Christopher Ashley, and choreography by Mandy Moore.
