A new play by Alexander Zeldin exploring family grief, guilt, and inheritance.
On the anniversary of their father’s death, two estranged sisters reunite at the family home. Their uncle seeks a new beginning, but long-buried resentments surface when one sister demands justice for past pain. Across one turbulent day, the family’s struggles with guilt, grief, and greed expose the fragile bonds that hold them together.
The Other Place is a new play written and directed by Alexander Zeldin (LOVE at Park Avenue Armory; The Confessions; Faith, Hope, and Charity), drawing inspiration from the myth of Antigone. The production features original music by Yannis Philippakis of Foals and design by Rosanna Vize, with lighting by James Farncombe and sound by Josh Anio Grigg.
Co-produced by The Shed and the National Theatre, in association with A Zeldin Company, this production continues Zeldin’s exploration of contemporary human experience through intimate ensemble storytelling.
