A group of modern-day teens travels back in time to meet famous and not-so-famous kids who changed the world such as Ben Franklin, the Suffragettes. and others. TADA! is a nonprofit theater that produces original musicals for family audiences. The production stars members of TADA!’s Resident Youth Ensemble: talented kids between the ages of 8 and 18 from the NYC area who participate in this free, year-round youth development program.
for a previous production "A fun but fact-packed look at how every person, even a child, has the ability to affect positive change...Although the show doesn't shy away from our nation's difficult past, it's serious without being scary, and powerful but not preachy...If your kids are in school, it's likely they're already discussing such subjects with peers, and 'History Mystery' is a great way to further that conversation...Families who've been marching in the streets with their children will likely leave invigorated." for a previous production "This hourlong musical delivers bushels of laughs, a genuine emotional kick, and a clever dramatization of why history matters to all of us...A show that really does appeal to all ages, whether you're related to a cast member or not…Trevens' book is fast-paced and informative without being condescending or politically correct. Rockwell's traditional musical theater score smartly avoids the pitfalls of faux rap and ersatz rock." Full Review
for a previous production "'The History Mystery,' the latest offering by TADA! Youth Theater's young acting troupe, is definitely one of their best...This timely show teaches kids that history matters, and that every person can make a difference. It does so in TADA!'s usual song-filled entertaining way, making it a great show for all ages. The show is not very long either at just under an hour making it perfect for young children's short attention spans." Full Review
for a previous production "'The History Mystery' creative team does a good job expressing the importance of history education and the impact it can have on today's children. I did question a couple of plot points. Other than Eleanor Roosevelt, I felt like the choice of female luminaries was thin at best...Artistically, 'The History Mystery' is solid…For a cast where not one person was over the age of 18, their singing and dancing was good."
