A children's musical from Secret Theatre about Pirate Pete, a lovable rogue on a mission to find his beloved runaway parrot, Polly. More…
Upon setting out, Pete decides it can't hurt to pick up some buried treasure as well, to help make the month's rent. Armed with an endearing crew of misfits like Jolly Roger (the insufferably happy second mate) and Miroslav, the Czech mate (get it?), Pete embarks on a journey complete with songs, sword fights, and plenty of audience interaction.
"For a fun afternoon that both kids and adults will enjoy, head to the little Secret Theatre...The cast members have an infectious enthusiasm, and can be found chatting with the kids after the performance. Richard Mazda’s smart writing is entertaining for the whole audience, packed with fun alliterations and rhymes for the kids, and wordplay and pop-culture references for their parents." Full Review
See it if if you have kids with you especially kids who love pirates. The kids love it.
Don't see it if you need a big theater, big props and don't appreciate being up close with the actors. Also, see it with kids.
See it if you are friends with one of the cast members and a VERY supportive friend.
Don't see it if outdated jokes are an issue; bad writing makes you and your kids wince; you want to inspire your kids to gain an appreciation for theatre.
