After decades in a passionless marriage, widower Jack Korman is thrilled to discover his new senior home has a 4 to 1 female ratio. His straitlaced son Larry is stunned when his father's demands switch from prune juice and ginkoba, to cologne and condoms. Jack hooks up with Violet, an attractive, vibrant soulmate around his age. But when a much younger, immigrant health aide also pursues him, Jack faces an unexpected, life-altering choice.
"A charming comedy with serious undertones...Vogel writes in an old-fashioned Jewish-humor style but steers clear of schlock and schmaltz, stripping his characters to their more-or-less lovable essences while revealing what seems a hopeful, even sunny view of human nature. It’s a refreshing dose of positivity in a city blindsided by recent realities...A good deal of credit must also go to director Donald Brenner for drawing out such strongly convincing performances." "‘Senior Moment’ uses one man’s move into assisted living as an opportunity for enthralling, sitcom-y humor…‘Senior Moment‘ is an enjoyable play that brings to light the experience of coping with aging and trying to grab at happiness in the short time one has left. The light-hearted, quip-filled humor is thoroughly engaging and laugh-inducing...The cast effectively milks every last laugh from Vogel’s script and convincingly embodies their characters."
