About the show

Ragtag Theatre Company presents an encore run of this musical romp inspired by 'Cinderella,' done in the style of commedia dell'arte. Formerly known as 'The Commedia Cinderella.' More…

From the folks behind 'The Commedia Rapunzel' comes this fairy-tale spoof. Follow a troupe of poor traveling "Italian" actors as they mount a musical inspired by the well-known story, with daffy llamas, roller-skating fairy godmothers, selfie-taking stepsisters, Carol Channing, and furry kicks standing in for the traditional glass slippers.

See it if you like modern, clever rewrite of classic children's drama reinforcing independent, positive girls' self-image. This trick not just 4 kids!

Don't see it if you do not enjoy seeing hour plus (length varies as audience response) silliness with kids and adults squealing happily (adults are loudest)

Clever, Entertaining, Dizzying, Original, Quirky

See it if You enjoy a slightly over the top show with fourth wall breaks, adult humor, and a story with starts and stops for pure comedic reasons

Don't see it if You can't just sit back and have fun with a little bit of absurdity. Maybe too much adult humor? You'd have to ask a parent about that one.

See it if you can allow gut-wrenching laughter from silly improv to take you places you've never been before in live theater. These sick bitches SLAY.

Don't see it if risque humor on any level (EVERY level here) & improv turns you off. Sam LaFrage is a comedic force, along w/his deliciously raucous troop.

See it if you want to laugh out loud non-stop -- the players are clearly having a ball, and their joy & enthusiasm is as contagious as the zika virus!

Don't see it if you're expecting fleshed-out parodies of Hamilton or Star Wars as implied by the show description -- those references were truly fleeting.

See it if You want an absolutely lovely, unexpectedly clever and entertaining show. Absolutely not just for kids-I know we adults got more out of it!

Don't see it if You'd prefer a straight telling of the tale-not a Comedia del Arte presentation w/modern references, gags, double entendres or anything gay.

See it if you want to laugh, and enjoy lots of pop-culture references. No worries if you don't like fairy tales, there's very little "Cinderella"!

Don't see it if you don't like sharing the theater with little kids, or if you don't like when the fourth wall is broken (it happens a lot).

See it if You like to see a "modern" version of Cinderella, where the adults get as much out of the show as the kids. And that there is a modern moral

Don't see it if You have no humor, are a depressed person, or think that the only Cinderella is the Disney Cinderella.
