Outstanding cast!, Great staging, Stirring, Important, 1980s history

See it if you like shows with huge impact! Great portrayal of hope, humour, pain the life for those unfortunate families in crisis without employment

Don't see it if you prefer a light hearted & not too serious show.

Great acting, Dated, Confusing

See it if you are familiar with the original TV drama series.

Don't see it if you never watched the original. Both storylines and characters feel random if you don’t know them.

Absorbing, Great acting, Great staging, Thought-provoking, Moving

See it if You like great writing about the difficulties experienced by the ordinary working people. Set in the 80s but still very pertinent.

Don't see it if You want a happy play. There’s black humour but it’s heart breaking and upsetting too. Read more

Profound, Great staging, Great writing, Great singing, Great acting

See it if stories about the working class and their struggles to get work and also stories about our mental health and how friendship can help

Don't see it if you find it hard to understand regional accents or not keen on shows with a full rounded ending

Riveting, Great writing, Great acting, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if It's a story about the dark days in 1982 when a lot of people were unemployed and benefits were minimal. If you like history and story.

Don't see it if If you are looking for something uplifting, then I would not go. It really reminds us of how bad things were.
