Shakespeare's tragedy fused with Radiohead's music in a story of power and paranoia.

Set in a surveillance state where fear and suspicion shape every action, Hamlet Hail to the Thief reimagines Shakespeare's tragedy through theatre, live music, and movement. Hamlet and Ophelia confront a world of corruption, ghosts, and political unrest as the prince seeks revenge for his father's murder while navigating deception within the royal court.

The production is co-created and directed by Christine Jones (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, American Idiot) and Steven Hoggett (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Black Watch). Thom Yorke (Radiohead) has reworked Radiohead's Hail to the Thief into a deconstructed orchestral score performed live on stage, with music by Radiohead and an adaptation by Christine Jones with Steven Hoggett.

Originally produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Factory International, the production is presented by ATC Music Group, TEG+, and Nate Koch in association with the Barbican. Following sold-out runs in Manchester and Stratford-upon-Avon, it plays at the Barbican Theatre from 31 October 2026 to 23 January 2027.
