Slow, Great singing, Disappointing, Dated, Cliched

See it if you enjoy classics.

Don't see it if you want to see an honest story on race that isn’t harmful or triggering. Contains racism and paedophilia, a slow paced story with no nuance

See it if you enjoy classic musicals, romance, depictions of foreign culture, a drama driven plot over spectacle, minimalist design, gorgeous lighting

Relevant, Epic, Great staging, Great singing, Enchanting

See it if This classic musical is given the most spectacular, lavish new production you could wish for. It has one famous melody after another. Great!

Don't see it if You only like modern musicals like “ Wicked “ South Pacific was written in 1948. It is very lush & tuneful. But if you like Rock it’s a No! Read more

Riveting, Exquisite, Delightful, Great singing, Romantic

See it if you like beautifully orchestrated score with Julian Ovenden being a must to hear. The pace, staging, cast were excellent. Romance feature.

Don't see it if you do not enjoy music from an old film, with traditional songs, dance routines and clothing. Romance featured throughout. No modern touches

" ‘South Pacific’ is meant to be fun, and it is here. But the sober stuff is really allowed to breathe in a well-judged production that plays this musical’s many, often seemingly contradictory strengths."
