Absorbing, Edgy, Great staging

See it if You want a revival with phenomenal sets, costuming and performances

Don't see it if You want a faithful reproduction of the original musical. There are changes in the script as well as the omission of the guilty ones

Intense, Resonant, Edgy, Ambitious, Absorbing

See it if You like good scores. The music was interesting as was the tackling of difficult topics of mental health and abording

Don't see it if It was quite intense and at some point a little cringe to watch teenagers being of their age.

Refreshing, Entertaining, Great singing, Clever, Absorbing

See it if Fantastic reimagining of the show- staging unique, performances nuanced. This removed problematic elements from original which is great.

Don't see it if Quite topical- not a kid friendly musical or one for those who aren’t open minded.

But as Covid restrictions force us all further apart, its rich atmosphere of longing feels powerfully current. It’s as soft and heartbreaking as an overheard sob in the night.

This is a superior coming of age piece that never loses sight of Wedekind’s subtitle, A Children’s Tragedy, yet is vastly entertaining and even laugh-out-loud funny at times.
