About the Show

A moving drama inspired by the 1973 arson attack on a gay bar in New Orleans.

Wes is transported back to 1970s New Orleans when he purchases the building which was once a lively gay bar known as the Upstairs Lounge. There, Wes learns about LGBTQ+ life and the discrimination and violence experienced by the community. Cast includes Tyrone Huntley (Jesus Christ Superstar, Dreamgirls), Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening, Smash), Victoria Hamilton Barritt (Cinderella, In the Heights) and Declan Bennett (Once, Jesus Christ Superstar). With Book, Music and Lyrics by Max Vernon and directed by Jonathan O'Boyle.
