About the show

The Temptations' extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

With their signature dance moves and unmistakable harmonies, they rose to the top of the charts, creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one. The rest is history — how they met, the groundbreaking heights they hit, and how personal and political conflicts threatened to tear the group apart as the United States fell into civil unrest. This story of brotherhood, family, loyalty, and betrayal is set to the beat of the group's treasured hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” and so many more.

Ambitious, Good acting, Entertaining, Great choreography, Great singing

See it if you're a Motown lover who enjoys a jukebox musical featuring great singing and choreography with the songs of the Temptations.

Don't see it if you're either not a fan of jukebox musicals or Motown and the Temptations. Also, with five main characters, it's difficult to provide depth.

Also Despite the obvious problems in creating depth with five main characte... Read more Read less

Great singing, Great staging, Masterful, Refreshing, Entertaining

See it if If you like the Temptations’ music, this includes all the hits and just enough history. Lots of great dance moves. Top jukebox show.

Don't see it if If you don’t like Motown music and seeing multiple songs with smooth dance moves. There isn’t any real growth - just 1 thing that works.

Great staging, Great singing, Great acting, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if you like to learn about famous musical groups AND/or you like to revisit the music of these groups.

Don't see it if you're thinking that people around you in the audience will be quiet. My "neighbors" hummed, sang along. To me, THAT is annoying.

Also I am not a huge fan of the director of this show, but I found the stag... Read more Read less

Like a diabetic in a male-voice candy shop, Great singing, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if the Motown sound makes your brain happy, like it does mine. There are so many amazing singers in this show that it's hard to keep track.

Don't see it if you like musicals with plot, like my son does. This is strictly a music review of all the Temptations greatest songs.

Also I had tried at least three times before to get tickets in my price ran... Read more Read less

Toe-tapping, Fun, Great songs, Great singing, Entertaining

See it if you love Motown and want to know the backstory on The Temps.

Don't see it if you want to see a show with all new original music, or a archetype that’s new, it’s in the same vein as other jukebox musicals

Brilliant choreography, wonderful music, energetic, Must see, Great singing

See it if you were a fan of The Temptations. You love great singing; and the choreography is a must-see even if not always in sync.

Don't see it if you never liked The Temptations. Are expecting elaborate sets; btw, elaborate sets aren't needed. Give it a try, you might like it.

See it if You love the Temptations music & are interested in their history. Ephraim Sykes, Jeremy Pope, Derrick Baskin standouts.

Great singing, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if you love Motown and want to see these songs sung live. The vocals and choreo are wonderful and I learned things I didn't know.

Don't see it if you are expecting a fully balanced account of the Temptations rise to fame. Spectacular production and sets that astound.

Entertaining, Cliched, Indulgent, Overrated, Great staging

See it if you love the Temptations' music and that'll make it worth a slow telling of their story.

Don't see it if you don't know enough Temptations music to keep you interested in a long story of people coming and going from a singing group.

68
Cliched, Entertaining, Overrated, Great staging, Disappointing

See it if you like the spate of biographical musicals which seem to me to be formulaic and predictable and are of fan of the Temptations.

Don't see it if you are tired of the predictable biographical musicals which only touch the surface of what is ultimately a much more complicated life story
