Set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1967, The Outsiders follows Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their chosen family of Greasers as they navigate life on the margins. Facing constant conflict with the wealthier Socs, the Greasers are forced into a spiral of violence, self-discovery, and change. As friendships are tested and personal identities take shape, the musical traces their fight to find belonging in a divided world.

This new Broadway adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s classic novel—also known through Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film—features a book by Adam Rapp (The Sound Inside) with Justin Levine (Moulin Rouge! The Musical), and an original score by folk-rock duo Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) alongside Levine. The production is directed by Tony Award® winner Danya Taymor (Pass Over), with choreography by Rick and Jeff Kuperman and music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Justin Levine.
