Family dynamics unravel on the farm in this new translation of the Chekhov classic.

Sonya (Alison Pill) and her uncle Vanya (Steve Carell) dedicate themselves to the family farm in seclusion. However, their routine is disrupted when Sonya's renowned ailing father (Alfred Molina) and his charismatic wife (Anika Noni Rose) move in. As summer unfolds, unexpected romances ignite, hidden desires and resentments surface, and the family grapples with the shadows of their unrealized aspirations.

Director Lila Neugebauer (known for The Waverly Gallery and The Wolves) joins forces with playwright Heidi Schreck (famed for What the Constitution Means to Me) for the premiere of Uncle Vanya at Lincoln Center Theater. This production blends Anton Chekhov's timeless masterpiece with the voice of a distinguished contemporary American playwright, creating a remarkably immediate new translation.
