Don't see it if You want a perfectly written show -- this is early Sondheim and you can tell

See it if you want to support ambitious work off broadway. Amazed at how rich and funny even a lower budget production is of this masterpiece.

Don't see it if you need big spectacle or across-the-board Tony calibre acting (one of the four leads was a bit weak).

Don't see it if You aren't interested in an entertaining evening at the theater at a great price.

See it if ...you are a Sondheim fan (I am not, but still enjoyed this.)

Don't see it if ...you want the full-stage effect.

See it if You want fab numbers of song and dance

Don't see it if You're not thrilled with the overwhelming adultery in the show

See it if you love Sondheim, love musicals, love great singing and dancing and love profound, touching stories that speak to our humaness.

Don't see it if you don't like musicals or shows about older women reliving their glory days and finding resolution.

See it if You like "Follies"- the vocals are excellent

Don't see it if you don't like Sondheim or seeing a cast thoroughly enjoying performing the show.

See it if You love this musical - you won't be disappointed even at this small venue and smaller budget.

Don't see it if I can't imagine why you wouldn't.

Also Despite not loving the two female leads, the cast was superb. The direction phenomenal. The design surprisingly good considering the budget restraints (although true fans of the musical will likely miss the grand Follies costumes - these come off cheap looking.) Don't see it if You’re not a Sondheim fan, and are expecting a big broadway production

See it if You like the very best of musical theatre and can adjust to the non-fanciness of the production.

Don't see it if You don't like musicals, or you only enjoy Follies with stars and production values

See it if you're a Sondheim fan and want to support a great off-off Broadway theatre co. Performances are strong and dance numbers entertaining

Don't see it if You don't like Follies and you're not willing to go a bit out of your way to get to the theatre. Plan ahead - subway may skip your stop.

Also This is a an ambitious production. The staging is impressive for a small show. The choreography is well done. The cast is strong, and the band (though small) does an excellent job. It can be difficult to hear, at times, because of the theatre acoustics. If you're not familiar with Follies, read about it before you go. Be careful to know your way to the theatre before you go. The MTA has been skipping the Broadway stop, on occasion. It's also about a half mile walk from the subway. See it if you are a sondheim fan, appreciate smart songs, enjoy something to think about in a musical. Several strong performances.

Don't see it if you dont like classic Sondheim or if it would bother you that the performances are not uniform.

See it if you enjoy quality musicals with wonderful performances! The show has great acting, direction, and choreography! Worth the trip.

See it if You love Too Many Mornings/Losing My Mind.YouTube Too Many MOrnings Liza and Petshop boys. Yes song is a disco version and great.

Don't see it if are sophisticated and deal with relationships.

See it if you want to be absorbed by a magical production with wonderful acting, singing, and choreography. Spot on direction and ensemble casting.

Don't see it if ...can’t think of a reason not to see it. Worth the trip to Astoria for a more intimate setting than you’d get on Broadway.

See it if like musicals in an intimate setting rather than in a huge theater, to not only enjoy the music, dancing, and singing, but the acting too.

See it if You will see anything by Sondheim and are curious about how to stage a tiny version of Follies.

Don't see it if You expect it to be of the same calibre as other APAC shows.

Also I'm an Astorian who has been coming to APAC for years. Raisin, Merrily We Roll Along, Allegro, the Human Comedy were amazing. Spelling Bee and others not so much, but fun. The plays are hit or miss (and not always well-chosen) -- haven't loved one since Carefully Taught, but others were respectable (Veild this year was children's theater, which was weird.)

I'm also a big fan of Follies. Which is why this was disappointing. I really thought APAC could pull it off, even with their budget. But the director didn't seem to have a handle on the staging -- scene transitions were awkward, blocking was limited to a tiny part of the stage. The band was good, but they hit some major clunkers and had trouble keeping pace, and I think some songs were edited for some reason. The dancing/choreography were much better than you'd expect, the cast was generally pretty good-to-great. But the costumes, lighting, and sets were all worse than APAC's usual work. Don't see it if You like extravagant productions only in Manhattan.

See it if you enjoy a good story, great dancing, and "theatre show".
